Phase 1: Launch & Infrastructure Setup (2024 - 2025) (Done)
- Objective: Establish the foundation for decentralized distribution and SongShare issuance.
- Major Initiatives:
- Partner with a white-label distributor to enable immediate DSP distribution.
- Finalize implementation of ODDP: metadata validation, author identity verification, royalty automations.
- Launch SongShare minting framework (10,000 tokens per song).
- Automate royalty distribution directly to holders.
- Start initial SongShare sales to early artists/fans.
- Dependencies: Distributor agreement, smart-contract audit & deployment, UI for upload & token issuance.
- Ownership: Platform & protocol is centralized an governed by the SONGS Company to permit agility and the fast paced changing environment that a new company needs in order to operate.
Phase 2: Secondary Marketplace & Automation (Q1 2026)
- Objective: Begin trading SongShares and automate royalty flows.
- Major Initiatives:
- Launch SongShare marketplace for secondary sales and lending.
- Refine fee structure (target ≤10%, split between artists and protocol).
- Dependencies: Secure, user-friendly marketplace UI, scalable blockchain infrastructure, monitoring dashboards.
Phase 3: Partner Network integration (H2 2026)
- Objective: Build and launch the fully decentralized, community-owned distributor, label, aligned entity, royalties gathering incentives based network.
- Major Initiatives:
- Matured and incentives onboarding for other distributors to join the payment & metadata protocol.
- Introduce the publishing token to track ownership in publishing royalties in songs.
- Introduce governance tokens or voting rights tied to $SONGS ownership.
- Begin negotiating direct DSP deals leveraging community catalog.
- Transition away from white-label reliance to autonomous distribution.
- Dependencies: Sufficient content volume, governance model, technical development for a easy usage of the protocol by others.
- Ownership: Issue the distributor, utility and user tokens. With a few distributors using the protocol and with a healthy ecosystem already, labels and curators performing different finance models on top and users and artists already consolidated. The platform is ready to jump into letting the protocol in the hands of the new ownership model.
